Finger Lakes Weekend

In the beginning of the year, Shelli saw an add for Greek Peak Resort (http://greekpeak.net/ ), in the Finger Lakes area of NY. We booked it and originally thought we’d take Zoe for her adoption day but, Mommy had surgery then so we had to push it back a few months until I was fully recovered and could join in all the fun.

We took Zoe out of school half day on Friday and headed up to the resort. It was about a 3-hour drive. The weather was awful however, but we didn’t let that get in the way of us having a blast. PLUS, the resort had an indoor water park so rain didn’t really matter once we got checked it.

This place was AMAZING! The rooms were like studio apartments with a full kitchen, DVD player, a dining room table, flat screen TV, fireplace, and a huge bathroom. The first night we got there, we threw our stuff in the room and explored the resort. Checking out the pools, game room, lobby, kids activities, gift shop, and everything else the place had to offer. Once we knew where everything was, we set out to find a grocery store to pick up a few goodies. We mainly bought breakfast and lunch stuff and some snacks. We also checked out the town to see what kind of things they had going on.

Saturday, we woke up early for a hike at Buttermilk Falls State Park. It was still sprinkling outside so we just came to terms with the fact we were going to get wet. This park had the most beautiful waterfalls. It was one of the prettiest hikes we’ve ever done. When we finished the hike, we had a snack and went back to the hotel to spend the rest of the day/night at the indoor waterpark. The waterpark had a wave pool, several slides, a basketball pool, a kiddy pool, a hot tub, and tons of other cool stuff. Mommy and Mimi even went down the slides a few times. To say we made a ‘splash’ is an understatement!

Sunday, Mimi wasn’t feeling real well so Zoe and I spent the morning together. I made parfaits for breakfast, then we went back to the indoor waterpark for a little while, and then before we checked out of the hotel, Zoe and I had an appointment at the Spa. Yep, The Spa! Zoe had her very first professional pedicure. We had a blast! They sat us side by side as they did our toes and we had the best time giggling and talking about the weekend as it was coming to a close.

I really hope to re-visit this resort again. It was very fun and extremely relaxing. Good times had by all.
