Shhhh....

This morning it was thundering and poring rain outside when I got up and decided I wanted to CALL OUT. Shelli is out of town on business so it's just Zoe and I this week. I called Shelli and let her know my plan before emailing Zoe's teacher and my principal. It's not often I let Zoe stay home from school for no good reason. We've been blessed that she isn't one of those kids who 'fakes' being sick or doesn't want to go to school so it's never been a struggle getting her to go to school.

I let Zoe sleep in and then after I called us both out, I crawled into bed with her. As soon as I did that, Zoe knew something was up. Let's face it, when Shelli isn't here things are nothing short of crazy in the mornings on a normal day trying to get out of the house so Zoe didn't know what to think but she was going along with it. I told her I called her out and we were going to spend the day together. She was so excited! We called the dogs up on the bed and just laid there for another hour dozing in and out.

When we finally rolled out of bed, Zoe's request was breakfast and a movie. Easy enough! I grabbed some coffee and she got a cinnamon/raisin bagel and cream cheese (her favorite!) and we rented a movie at Redbox. We ended up with Dolphin Tale 2. We got all cozy on the couch, made popcorn, and watched the movie which was one of the sweetest movies I've ever seen. After the movie, we actually took a little nap. I don't think the day could have been any more perfect. We had the best time just hanging out together.

Masks

Sunday Fun Day....

This afternoon we decided to do facials.... Mimi's "mask" turned out to be more of a sand scrub however, at the end we all had nice, smooth, and clean skin! SO. MUCH. FUN.

Adoption Day

For Zoe's adoption day this year, we decided to make Zoe the meal of her choice. It didn't take Zoe 30 seconds to shout out, “SALMON!” We got her a nice piece of fish and threw it on the BBQ, fresh green beans baked in olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper, rice pilaf, and for dessert a yummy cupcake.

The weather was absolutely perfect so we were able to eat outside on the deck. It was a perfect dinner with the one person we love more than anything in this entire world!

Happy Adoption Day Sweet Pea.... We couldn't be more proud to be your parents!

Happy Easter

We had a very relaxing and wonderful Easter. We got up to a basket full of goodies the Easter Bunny left for Zoe.... Well, this year she doesn't believe in the Easter Bunny per se, she says her bunny, Noah is the Easter Bunny so we will go with that! Either way, she got lots of fun stuff and we had fun watching her go through everything. We STAY AWAY from filling the basket with candy. But Zoe got her a few of her favorite treats and the rest is usually toys, books, and other little knick-knacks. I got a beautiful Easter Lily from Zoe, and Shelli got 2-tickets to the Camden Sharks baseball game for her and Zoe to go see together – just the two of them! Mimi also got a couple of cool mugs from mommy.

After the gifts, we went for our first hike of the season. We might have jumped the gun a little because the ground was still a muddy mess from the snow melting. By the time we finished the trial, our shoes were trashed and our pants were full of mud and our socks were soaked, but it was worth it just to be outside. We even saw a few deer.

The rest of the day we spent at home, playing outside with the animals, cooking, and just being together. We didn't make a huge meal. Just a ham, potato salad, and some sweet bread.  All of which was delish!  In the afternoon Jaylyn came by to say hi, and the girls played for a little while. It was a great Easter!
