Zoe + Biscuit = Roommates

For the past couple months, Zoe has been asking if Biscuit can sleep in her room at night. I’ve never, for several reasons, thought it was a good idea. For one, Biscuit is sneaky and Shelli swears she has opposable thumbs. To this day will get into the trash if you don’t watch her, and the trash bin is inside the pantry!! For two, I thought Zoe would stay up playing with Biscuit and not go to sleep.

While Zoe was in Miami, I looked high and low for a dog bed that was PINK or PURPLE! Zoe requested the bed be pink or purple to match her bedroom. After perusing a few stores, I found a pink dog bed, as requested. I brought it home and put it in Zoe’s room so when she got back she would finally be able to enjoy her new roommate, Biscuit.

I looked in on the two when I first got up, and both were knocked out. After my coffee and paper, I went back upstairs to look in on them and I saw Zoe and Biscuit enjoying some morning chat. Zoe says, “Mommy, Biscuit and I woke up at the same time!”

Life is good!

Zoe goes to Miami

Shelli had to go down to Miami for work so Zoe tagged along to enjoy a little time in the sunshine with some of the people she loves most.

There are over 100 pictures and I couldn't post them all however, here are a few ....

The night she arrived, Big Sam came over to teach Zoe how to play a few songs on the guitar she had waiting for her when she got there.

Day 1: Churros and hot chocolate with the girls before heading to the Everglades.

Day 2: BEACH bound with Lisa and Sam... Zoe's favorite place in the whole wide world.

Day 3: BEACH bound again this time with Mamaw and PopPop.

Day 4: Hung out playing in the backyard where Zoe loves to make snail soup, work on projects, and just play, play, play.

Let's not forget special visits with .....

Uncle Henry (Zoe's Godfather)

Aunt Christina (My should of been sister), Uncle Frank, and baby Jack

A special 'Thank You' to Mamaw, PopPop, Aunt Lisa, and Big Sam for giving Zoe such a wonderful visit and taking the time to make her trip special!

Brunch

This morning Zoe and I joined the Johnson-McCormick crew for brunch at their house. It’s been way too long since we’ve last seen them and we were well overdue for some quality time.

The kids spent the morning playing, running, jumping, screaming, and enjoying every second of being together. When it was time for brunch we all enjoyed mimosas with our food. The kids had the ‘kid-friendly’ version and the adults had the ‘adult friendly’ version along with bagels, lox, fresh fruit, and yummy desserts.

It was fantastic seeing everyone. We always pick up right where we left off and I feel blessed to have such amazing friends that I can talk to about everything and anything! I had so much fun watching the kids play and of course playing with Miss Meera.

While we were having bagels, Meera came over and wanted to whisper to me so, I bent down and she told me a ‘secret’… Zoe was sitting next to us but, couldn’t hear Meera and when Zoe asked what Meera said, I replied, sorry Zoe it was a secret! On the way home right before Zoe was about to fall asleep, she said, “Okay mom, now can you tell me what Meera told you?” I said, “Zoe, if I told you, it wouldn’t be a secret” Zoe then says (after a few minuets) “Fine mom, I’m going to take a nap if you’re not going to tell me!!!” With that said, Meera should always know her secrets are safe with me!

Thanks J-M family for having us over. We must not let that much time go by again. Xoxo

Hair Prep

Taking out Zoe’s braids isn’t an easy task and is extremely time consuming. By taking out her braids prior to the hair appointment, it helps save a little time and makes for less time Zoe has to sit in the chair at the salon. I don’t know how Zoe does it. The process is long – so long!

Tonight before and after dinner, I took out her braids. She had to have a few things to help her through. #1, Ipod. #2, flashcards, #3, m&m’s (peanut), #4, seltzer water.

With all that said, Zoe is ready for her hair appointment this weekend with Ms. Barbara.

Snow......AGAIN!

This morning we woke up to 6 inches of snow. There was no way I was going to attempt to drive to work until the roads were plowed so, Zoe and I took the opportunity to play in the snow. We were in the snow about an hour before I had to get ready for work. Zoe’s school was closed so, of course she wanted mommy to stay home and play with her all day. I didn’t want to leave her, that’s for sure! However, this morning was so much fun and that is one of the best things about ‘snow days’ … playing in the snow with Zoe!

Zoe stayed home with Mimi today and they had a fun day together doing Zoe – Mimi stuff!
