Day 6

Today was our last day in San Diego. Shelli had to work and though Shelli left us the car (her work is about 2 blocks from the hotel), we decided to stay in and spend the day relaxing. We got up late, put the 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign on the door, and had some quiet time to reflect on our incredible trip. After breakfast, we put the radio on and spread all our brochures out on the bed. I bought Zoe a scrapbook before we left so she could have a memory book of all the fun things we did. I remember doing scrapbooks as a kid of all the places I visited. My mom would sit with me and help me and it was so much fun.  I packed glue sticks, colored pencils, and we bought a cheap pair of scissors when we got here. The book came out really cute and we had a great time talking about all the awesome things we did and saw while we were here.

After we finished the scrapbook, we spent the afternoon at the pool. There was no one there but us. It was marvelous!

By the time we got back to the hotel room and showered, Shelli was back from work.  We relaxed for about 45 minutes and then went out to dinner with her co-workers. Leaving tomorrow isn't going to be easy. I've traveled to many places however I've really fallen in love with San Diego. The only thing holding us back from moving here right this second is that it's so expensive to live here. If we could find a way around that, we would be here in a hot second. We loved every second of every hour being here. Zoe and I head home alone tomorrow. Shelli has a few more days of work so we will see her in a few days when she gets home. We are so grateful to have been able to come along. It was a trip we will never forget!

Day 5

Belmont Park: Belmont Park is a historic oceanfront amusement park located in the Mission Bay area of San Diego. Right around the corner, just a few steps away on the boardwalk you can rent bikes and that's just what we did. It was magical!

 Mimi won Zoe a Nemo!
Another AMAZING day in San Diego!

If you look real close you can see all the seals on the left side of the rock

 Old Town

Old Town was very cool. It was the original town settled by the first Californians. They had several little shops, museums, and Mexican restaurants. We ate at Casa de Reyes and it was the best Mexican food we've ever eaten. We sat outside, listened to the mariachi band, had a few drinks, and for dessert, we had churros.  All in all, it was pretty perfect. After we ate, we walked around and checked out all the little stores. We came across a candle store where you could dip candles into colored wax so Zoe made one and it came out so pretty. We really enjoyed walking around, the weather is always so perfect here.
